Amerikai akadémikusok csatlakoztak a Bojkott Izrael Mozgalomhoz!

A Palesztin Felszabadítási Szervezet által meghirdetett bojkotthoz négyszáz amerikai akadémikus csatlakozott.
Híres amerikai intézmények és egyetemek kutatói és tanárai mintegy négyszázan írták alá az a nyilatkozatot, hogy megszakítanak minden kapcsolatot olyan izraeli intézménnyel, ami valamilyen formában támogatja vagy segíti az izraeli hadsereggel.
A nyilatkozatban megfogalmazódott, hogy az izraeli hadsereg és a kormány nem tarja tiszteletbe a palesztinok emberi jogait. Megszállás alatt tarja Ciszjordániát és Kelet Jeruzsálemet, illetve blokád alá vonta a Gázai övezetet. A bojkott azokra az oktatási intézményekre is vonatkozik, ahol a palesztin diákok megkülönbözetve vannak.
– Példának hoznám fel a Tel-Avivi Egyetemet. Számos tanulmányt írt az Izraeli Hadseregnek, amiket felhasználtak a 2006-os Libanoni Háborúban illetve a 2014-es Erős Szikla hadműveletben. – nyilatkozta az egyik aláíró.
Az Nyilatkozatban felszólítják Izraelt, hogy tartsa tiszteletben az emberi jogokat és az ENSZ határozatait. Ezek alapján:
1. Izrael szüntesse meg a Gázai övezet blokádját. Vonuljon ki az összes megszállt területről és térjen vissza az 1967-es határokhoz.
2. Ismerje el és tartsa tiszteltben az Izraelben élő palesztin állampolgárok teljes jogait.
3. Ismerje el és tartsa tiszteletben Az ENSZ 194 számú határozatát, ami biztosítja palesztin menekülteknek, hogy visszatérhessenek szülőföldjükre és visszakapják ingatlanjaikat.
